The Palestinian dead toll from Israel’s continuing military onslaught on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023 has risen to 30,800, the enclave’s Health Ministry announced on Thursday.
According to a ministry statement, the attack has hurt at least 72,298 people.
“At least 83 people were killed and 142 others injured in Israeli attacks in the last 24 hours,” the ministry stated in a statement.
“Many victims are still trapped under rubble and on the roads, and rescuers cannot reach them,” it stated.
Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip since a cross-border raid by the Palestinian group Hamas in October, which Tel Aviv claimed killed almost 1,200 people.
According to the UN, the Israeli bombardment has displaced around 85% of Gazans, resulting in critical shortages of food, potable water, and medication, while 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.
Israel is accused of genocide by the International Court of Justice, which issued an interim verdict in January ordering Tel Aviv to halt genocidal crimes and take steps to ensure that humanitarian aid is delivered to residents in Gaza.
