Dakota Johnson And Chris Martin ‘Engaged’ After Six Years Of Relationship
Chris Martin, 47, and Dakota Johnson, 34, are “engaged” after six years together, according to a recent story.
The Coldplay singer reportedly proposed to the actress some time ago and has the full approval of his ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, 51, and their two children, Apple, 19, and Moses, 17.
A source has now told The Mirror that the couple got engaged a while ago but kept the news hidden.
“But now they’re open about it in their groups. They’ve been madly in love with one other since the beginning, so taking this next step was natural.
“They are in no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official.”
The Standard has contacted Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson’s reps for comment.
Johnson sparked speculation about a possible engagement in October when she was seen wearing an emerald green ring on her wedding finger during a birthday celebration in Los Angeles.
Reports of their engagement come as the Madame Webb star expresses her desire to embrace motherhood while discussing being a stepmother to Martin’s two children with Paltrow in a rare interview.
She told Bustle Magazine: “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.“
Before adding: “How do I feel about motherhood? I’m so open to that. I’ve gotten to this place where I really want to experience everything life has to offer.
“And especially being a woman, I’m like: ‘What a magical f***ing thing to do. What a crazy, magical, wild experience.’
“If that’s meant to happen for me, I’m totally down for it. We’re not here for very long, so if I’m meant to be a mother, bring it on.”
The couple, who like to keep their relationship private, first met through mutual friends. Previously, Johnson told Vanity Fair in 2022 that they “never really left each other” after meeting.
They were initially photographed together in 2017, shortly after his split from Paltrow, but it was unclear whether they were romantically involved.
